Overview

We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer, ideally with experience in SAFe. In this role, you will be managing and driving several SAFe Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and be a servant leader. This person must be comfortable coaching and influencing senior leadership on behalf of teams, and ensuring a streamlined delivery to clients. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with product management and system architecture team to develop high performing ART, including taking responsibility for the program backlog that feeds work to the ART
  • Use tools such as program boards and information radiators to manage and improve flow of value thru ART
  • Manage PI Planning readiness/events, and coordinate team PI objectives into an overall PI Program
  • Lead synch meetings, including ART syncs and ceremonies
  • Address critical bottlenecks
  • Work with Lean Budgets
  • Manage system and solutions demos
  • Provide agile leadership to teams and leadership across the organization. Be the voice of the teams to senior management, ensuring expectations are in line with reality.  
  • Discover and solve any issues, roadblocks, risks or dependencies teams face and help prevent future issues from affecting team’s ability to deliver.
  • Facilitate quarterly planning, ensuring development, product management and other teams are aligned and focused on overall success of software products. Coordinate stakeholders and customers in feature planning, definition and delivery.
  • Develop ART KPI's per iteration and product increment
  • Ensure ART transparency and backlog and reporting management via KPIs, metrics and other reporting as needed.
  • Ensure continuous improvement through periodic reviews with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Participate in delivery coordination including driving major feature release and ongoing value-add to customers.
  • Lead major delivery-related improvement initiatives spanning multiple teams.
  • Be a continuous improvement leader, driving teams to seek ways to improve backlog management, sprint reviews, quality assurance and in other areas.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Hands on experience with agile, SAFe HIGHLY PREFERRED 
  • 3+ years’ of experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master or Agile Project/Program Manager or a combination of similar roles
  • Able to work effectively with a variety of teams (including development and other departments) and personality types
  • Track record of success in leading teams delivering high quality software as a service (SaaS)
  • Excellent communication, mentoring and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Agile using Scrum, KanBan, XP, SAFe or other scaling model
  • SAFe (SSM, ASSM, or RTE) certification highly preferred
  • BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline.
